We had a walk from Sandwich and called here after getting caught in heavy rain. Staff were friendly and helpful when we wanted to order a taxi. The place was warm and comfortable and welcomed none members so definitely worth calling in if you are passing.

Although I have visited Princes Golf Club on many previous times I never knew that the lodge had a bar and food. Have subsequently been on a walk into Sandwich Bay and had a drink and sat outside watching them play golf.

Perfect place for your Sandwich golf trip.
Our room was basically a 2 bed flat, both en suite. Perfect set-up.
Breakfast and dinner were both of very good standard. Food option's were great as well.
A really warm and friendly welcome on our arrival, and from all the reception staff we spoke with. Happy to help with everything.
The bar has a nice relaxing atmosphere, with a good selection of drinks. The staff were great as well. In particular the father and son duo of manager and catering General dogs body. So much so that as a 3 ball we extended an invitation for the son (sorry I'm awful with names) to make us up to a 4 ball when we played the Prince's on our last day. He duly obliged and met us on the 1st tee the next morning. An enjoyable 9 holes was had, as he had to then go to work.
I would highly recomend The Lodge if you're playing the 3 courses of sandwich. Perfect location, with amazing views out to sea, and out the back, of Royal St George's and the Prince's courses. What should be a golfing mecca. I will return.

As a base for your golf trip this is excellent.
Such a friendly team and great food, lots of choice and the quality is what you’d expect to find in a good restaurant.
Plenty to eat after a hard day on the links and a great breakfast to set you up the the next challenge. I’d have preferred better ventilation or AC in my room but it was spotlessly clean and comfortable.

On the plus side the rooms are great, nice lounge separating the bedrooms, staff all friendly and bar was good. Food (breakfast) was good, and service quite prompt.
On the downside there is a mosquito problem - absolutely riddled with bites on the second night and the presence of citronella in the room shows it’s a known problem. Please put mesh on the windows or something similar as it detracted from what would have otherwise been a great stay.

Stayed at the lodge and played golf at Princes on a Saturday and Sunday. We arrived early for a 12 tee off on the Saturday, ate a great breakfast at the bar in the Clubhouse. It was reasonably priced for an well established club. We played 2 rounds with the course being in fantastic condition. The hotel was very good, everything you need for a comfortable stay, good shower, comfortable bed, tea and coffee and an iron if you need it. We didn't eat dinner there, we arranged a cab and went back into Sandwich and had a great curry, we then went onto a few other pubs and got a cab back to the hotel. All in all a very good trip and would highly recommend.

The room were nice and staff friendly only down side while there was that a group of guests who were sraying decided to have a putting competion at midnight and play music and shout which could be heard in our room two floors up. After a hour I went to complain to the night porter who said sorry but there the general manger friends and I cant say anything to them I made it clear as a paying guests I wanted to sleep and if he did nothing I would go to talk to them only then did he very reluctantly go to speck to them . After another 15 the noise stopped in the morning when checking out the lady on reception apologized and offered a free coffee

Great accommodation for golfers. The green of hole 5 at Princes GC Shores is right outside the bar at the hotel. Cooked breakfast is really nice, would recommend the Eggs Royale. Club Sandwich in the bar is perfect after the round. Would choose the ala Carte menu in the restaurant in stead of package deals. Rooms are great and with good space for the golf equipment. Friendly staff.

Great Venue for a golf break. It's my second visit in a year and it wasn't a disappointment especially the revamped Himalayas Nine which I think is amazing even though it's only been open a few weeks. The Dunes and Shore courses are great too. A great place for your golf break in Kent as Royal St. George's and Royal Cinque Ports are within a stones throw and are of the highest quality. A must visit for all golf fans and a true links test.
The only reason for not giving a full 5*s is the food was good but not exceptional.
